Meche`s Donut King in Lafayette

Love their donuts and king cakes. I did notice one thing as I visited 3 locations around Lafayette area. The Pinhook and Guilbeau location had NO people of color working, but the Northside location (black area) had all black. I know we accept a lot of things and support a lot of businesses with our money, but this observation seems a little calculated. That's all.

All of Lafayette knows this is where you get the “best” doughnuts, but now they have kolache’s too. My favorite is the smoked chicken with pepper jack cheese. Hmmm good.

Honestly, this location is the ONLY location I would consider all other locations in my opinion don't compare.

Gotta try the pulled pork and pepper jack kolachi. They often run out, but this is my new favorite. They also have turkey and pepper jack, brisket, and boudin. And of course a great selection of donuts!

Fantastic donuts! Every once in a while I wake up at 4am just to go grab some fresh cake donuts. Best donuts in Lafayette!

I always love it all. Be prepared to stand in line a while but it's worth it! Their selling King Cakes! Go grab you one. Take your purchase to go or sit inside and enjoy it. I highly recommend this establishment. Go check them out.

In my 37 years of life this place is hands down the best. Their king cakes are like no other. Someone took me to a famous place in New Orleans that make king cakes and I was not impressed one bit. They might have the most history but after eating long cakes from meche's donut king, every thing before and so far every after have not tasted better.

Delicious Donuts, Great Staff! Even when I come in and ask for 10 dozen donuts, the staff is always kind and willing to help me as quickly as possible!

Awesome donut shop, the best we've been to in the states so far. We went there by accident and we're surprised. It's sort of crowded in there but staff stays friendly and offers a great service including warm donuts in all styles you can imagine. You should also check their king cake, they have a lot of them prepared in the shop. Coffee is alright as well (well American coffee, if you're used to Italian or French coffee you'll have a hard time in the us anyway ...) . They already preparing for Mardi Gras with decorations and playing cliché music but I liked it.

The donuts ate fantastic! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is there's not enough parking and the building is small. Sometimes you're standing in line outside the entrance doors because there's not enough standing room inside. The service is great and the employees are very friendly.

I went on there website to order a King Cake to be shipped. The process to order is the worse I have ever experienced. There ordering process needs to be simplified.

Love the retro feel, the lady at the counter was so sweet! We will be coming again! Everything here is delicious and the service is great! 😊 she gave us our two donuts (second purchase) for free when we went back to get two more. So sweet!

I'm always satisfied with is location. Not once I've been here and left unhappy. So I drive past one meche's to drive in traffic further just to go to this location on guilbeau road. The staff goes above and beyond to help you. If they don't have what I want on my cinnamon roll, they will add it and with a smile. 5 stars to this location.

Without a doubt Meche's on Guilbeau in Lafayette is the best place for donuts and king cakes!

The window says “best in town” for a reason. The variety of flavors mixed with the quality of product, availability, and service make this a must-go for visitors and a regular breakfast joint for locals.

The best donuts in town are here and larch selection. They fill them well too. Lots of kolaches to choose from too. This location can be hard to park at but I park at the insurance place next door. The apple fritters are a little burnt sometimes.

Still great! Been several years since my last visit but still worth the stop!

I bought a couple of different types of donuts and a pecan apple Cinnamon fritter. Service was very quick and extremely polite. The donuts were awesome! So was the apple fritter, even the next day!

Best donuts. Fast service. Friendly staff. I've had these donuts shipped across the country, they're that good.

By far the best Meche's location, only con is they don't sell the cold coffee like others do.

So i asked for 3 donuts and she put them in a small paper cup for me i was like can you put them in a box so she told me no get 4 and i put them in a box but i don't want 4 donuts i need only 3 and im not gonna carry 3 donuts on the top of each other and not covered like that!!in the end I had to tell her to charge me extra for the box. I gave 2 stars because they're donuts are good .
